Kansas Legislative News:

LEGISLATIVE CALENDAR

  • Monday, January 30th - Deadline for individual legislators to request bill drafts.
  • Monday, February 6th - Deadline for non-exempt committees to request bill drafts.
  • Wednesday, February 8th - Deadline for individual legislators to introduce bills.
  • Friday, February 10th - Deadline for non-exempt committees to introduce bills.
  • Friday, February 24th (Turnaround Day) - Deadline for non-exempt bills to clear house of origin.
  • Wednesday, March 21st - Deadline for consideration of bills not in house of origin.
  • Saturday, March 31st (Drop Dead Day) - No bills considered after this date, except bills vetoed by the Governor, Omnibus Appropriations Act and Omnibus Reconciliations spending limit bill.
  • Veto Session - Approximately three weeks after last day of regular session.
  • Sine Die - To Be Announced.
